Christianity Explored

This is a fabulous four-week series, meeting on Wednesday evenings, that looks into who Jesus is, what he did and what he came to do.  If you are wanting a “refresher” look at Christianity or are simply curious as to what Christianity is without all the hype or jargon, then this series is exactly for you.  It is a relaxed, no-pressure or assumptions approach.

Take a look at the following trailer to check it out:

Beginning Wednesday 1 July at 20.00 and finishing by 21.45, we’ll meet for the next consecutive Wednesday evenings (1 July, 8 July, 15 July and 22 July).  A light supper will be provided followed by a short video presentation and opportunity for conversational questions and answers within an informal and relaxed atmosphere.

A Passion for Life

A Passion for Life is about proclaiming Christ's PASSION for the LIFE of the world in March 2010.

It means:

  • connecting with people – making contact with unbelievers in our local communities
  • connecting with churches – partnering with Evangelical churches for the sake of the gospel
  • connecting with Easter – rediscovering the glorious message of Christ’s death and resurrection

What Are You All About?

If you ask what is Christ Church, Earlsfield all about, well, part of the answer is: “Under God, a missional church.” This is, to be sure, jargon. So what does “missional” mean?

One of the best explanations comes from Tim Keller, senior minister of Redeemer Church in Manhattan. Watch this video clip:

Speaking of Keller — while we’re NOT some of his groupies, some of us have been reading his book, The Reason for God: belief in an age of skepticism (New York: Dutton, 2008). This is an immensely accessible book in which Keller aims to interact with some of the challenging questions and concerns contemporary people have concerning Christianity. The compassion, clarity and civility of his approach are impressive. It is a helpful read, especially for those unconvinced or uncertain about orthodox Christianity.
